Functional Lead Secondary Engineering Standardization Team 80 - 100% (f/m/d)

Our unit Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS), based in Zürich-Oerlikon, is active in the development and production of gas insulated switching systems. We ensure the high reliability of our systems by using state-of-the-art development tools and methods.


For our business unit High Voltage Products we are looking for a Functional Lead of the Standardization Team in Secondary Engineering. In this challenging position you will take over the functional lead for the standardization team to drive forward the product standardization and improvements. You will work closely with the Secondary Engineering team in Switzerland, Germany and India and develop a Standardization Roadmap that guides the development of our product for the future. Together with the standardization team, you will ensure successful implementation of improvements, such as releases of new templates and engineering guidelines that enables Engineering to deliver their projects effectively and in high quality.


How you'll make an impact

  • Lead functionally the Secondary Engineering Standardization Team including the daily management of tasks, planning and balancing of team workload, ensuring progress, transparency, and effective utilization of team capacity and development of required competences the team

  • Define of GIS Secondary Engineering design standards through the development of templates and design guidelines with the support of the standardization team and experts

  • Develop, maintain and regularly update of the Secondary Engineering Standardization Roadmap in collaboration with the Standardization team members, Key stakeholders within Secondary Engineering and other departments

  • Engage in the Quality process and Continuous Improvement Cycles of the GIS organization and actively collaborate with other engineering teams and stakeholders to discuss, evaluate and align improvements, and to prioritize them for the implementation

  • Execute and technically lead improvement tasks from the Standardization roadmap individually

  • Drive the standardization and harmonization of E3 templates to provide an efficient and high-quality basis for project-specific schematics


Your background

  • Electrical engineering background

  • Demonstrated ability to lead successfully, either in management position or in challenging and complex projects

  • Solid experience in engineering of Secondary Equipment (LCCs) as Secondary Engineering PM

  • Experience of the corresponding tools used for Secondary Engineering

  • Readiness to take over role as functional leadership within a team.   Proven experience in Project Management, Certification e.g. as PMP is a plus

  • Fluency in English. German or any other language is a plus
