The Project Technical Engineering, joining in our Engineering Department, will embody these values by promoting collaboration across cross-functional teams demonstrating integrity and accountability in project execution, and driving innovation in the design and delivery of substations and power systems. The role is focused on Primary (electromechanical design) Discipline.

By adopting BIM, the organization increases its value proposition to customers through improved collaboration, data accuracy, and efficiency across the entire project lifecycle. 

 

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead and coordinate the secondary (electrical design) scope to ensure the integrity and correct function of the substation system, including conceptual design support and equipment implementation.

  • Leading and coordinating teams across all engineering disciplines (both in‑house and outsourced) for conventional projects with moderately complex features, when required by the situation. Leading single‑ or multi‑discipline engineering teams

  • Produce secondary engineering deliverables: SLDs, protection/control schematics, interlocking concepts, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, MV/LV system design and panel layouts.

  • Validate protection and control schemes, perform calculations and FAT/SAT procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with CEI/IEC/EN standards, Italian grid codes, and Hitachi Energy QHSE requirements; drive design quality and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate with civil, primary, protection and control engineers to ensure complete interfaces, proper cable routing, and constructability.

  • Technical interface with Customers and other stakeholders (e.g. suppliers) related to the Secondary discipline

  • Support the project team with claims related to changes in the secondary scope, assessing cost, time impacts, and risks while maintaining customer satisfaction through continuous dialogue and excellent service.

  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues to share best practices and develop leadership, coordination, and communication skills, upholding core values of safety, integrity, and quality.

  • Cooperation with the Project Manager Engineer for preparation of project schedule, progress, risk opportunities, change management.

  • Support the development of project deliverables during the tender phase by coordinating and preparing documentation, creating engineering estimates, and performing risk assessments prior to submission Support installation, testing, and commissioning: respond to site queries, review as-builts, and facilitate customer handover. Engage customers as a trusted technical partner: clarify requirements, present solutions, and capture lessons learned for future projects.

  • Decision making in secondary discipline

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 

  • proven experience (2-3 years) in secondary engineering for substations or industrial power systems, from design to commissioning.

  • Basic protection concepts (e.g., differential, distance, overcurrent, FAT/SAT) experience and knowledge.

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to workplace safety guide-lines, combined with a high level of self-motivation and curiosity for new technologies.

  • Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach, with strong communication skills and knowledge of power systems, renewable energy, transmission systems.

  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Italian (mandatory). Any additional languages will be appreciated

The minimum salary for this position in the location specified is as follows:

 

  • Starting from: 38,000 € gross annual

 

The final offer will be based on candidate location, skills and qualifications, experience, and aligned with internal pay structures.
