Tax professional

Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Tax Professional for its Athens, Greece location. The Tax Professional will report to the Finance Manager in performing daily & monthly tax activities in accordance with local rules and requirements. 

Your responsibilities:

• Handle all tax matters such as: prepare the monthly VAT-Intrastat report, withholding & stamp duty taxes, annual CIT report

• Handle ebooks requirements, characterization of transactions, daily review of Mydata platform and reconciliation with company’s records,

• Support in preparation of local Transfer Pricing file,

• Manage import and export transactions, preparation of proper paperwork and import/export documentation, such as, certificates of origin, export permissions,

• Handle import duty expenses and other customs’ related fees,

• Daily communication with custom’s brokers, calculation of duties, other taxes and imports’ VAT,

• Manage warehouse books, perform monthly reconciliation with trial balance,

• Support controlling and reporting process, follow internal control procedures,

• Close cooperation with other departments and external consultants

• Supports with external and internal audits, keep advantageous relations with auditors. Ensures transparency in financial reporting, enhances and manages internal control environment.

• Participates in internal control testing and review relevant documentation

Your background 

• University Degree in Economics or relevant areas

• Previous experience, of at least three years, in an Accounting Department in similar role

• Very good knowledge of local tax legislation, preparation of VAT, intra-community transactions, withholding & stamp duties taxes, Mydata/ebooks

• Broad knowledge of Import/Export processes including customs and quality procedures, knowledge of local legislation for trade and global regulations and two-three years of relevant experience in a multinational environment

• Strong computer literacy and excellent knowledge of MS Office Excel

• Knowledge of ERP/SAP and IFRS will be considered as a plus

• Excellent command of the English language

• Team oriented personality with very good organizational skills

• Strong sense of responsibility & reliability
