Writing the next chapter in transformer components at CWIEME Berlin 2024

Hitachi Energy proves again that people, technological innovations, and partnerships are part of its corporate identity. The company presented three “firsts” at the largest event for transformer components: a new flexible OIP bushing platform, participation in a panel discussion on career opportunities, and a dinner with more than 100 customers in the iconic Wasserwerk Berlin.

Hitachi Energy has been joining CWIEME Berlin, the world’s leading expo for coil winding, insulation, and electrical manufacturing, for more than 20 years. While every year has its own highlights, this year has been even more special. Helmut Bockshammer, Global Product Group Manager for Transformer Components, and Peter Purcell, Product Line Manager Insulation and Components in Europe, unveiled during a launch ceremony a new OIP bushing platform, GOB+, which builds upon the success and legacy of GOB, offering a broader product to meet the evolving needs of the modern grid. This latest addition will set the industry standard, by combining all technical benefits from the last decades of bushing experience into one single solution.

Customers are at the forefront of our strategy, as the user experience is a top priority for us. GOB+ simplifies every step of the process, from installation and operation, to maintenance, saving time and resources.

The three-day event was packed with interesting face-to-face conversations about the journey towards a more sustainable energy future. Hitachi Energy’s team had the chance to interact with over 500 customers and partners from 44 countries at Hitachi Energy’s impressive  booth, creating valuable interactions and discussions on how to create synergies with customers and partners.

Hitachi Energy was also proud to join the “Future Engineers Program” as part of CWIEME 2024. The program opens a platform for dialogues and targets new talents to join the industry. As part of this program, Helmut Bockshammer and Jennie Aldenlid, Area Sales Manager, joined the panel discussion on career opportunities and shared their professional life experiences and discussed the importance of diversity.

“There are many diverse opportunities when you work at a global company like Hitachi Energy. You can build your entire career within the company, exploring various roles” says Jennie Aldenlid. Helmut Bockshammer adds, “Indeed, we require not only electrical engineers but also chemists, mechanical engineers, software developers, electronics experts, and business professionals. Beyond educational background, I firmly believe that attitude is crucial, as it embodies our values of harmony, sincerity, and pioneering spirit.” During guided exhibition tour, young talents got insights into Hitachi Energy’s business, its global footprint, and new opportunities. “We are fully committed to empowering new talents”, Bockshammer concludes.

During the fair, Hitachi Energy and Pucaro jointly hosted an exclusive customer dinner at the iconic Wasserwerk Berlin, welcoming over 100 valued customers and partners for an evening of networking and celebration. Against the backdrop of Berlin’s historic waterworks, we forged meaningful connections and exchanged insights into the future of electrification.

We are thankful to all the customers and partners who joined us. Let’s keep collaborating to find innovative solutions to enable a sustainable energy future for all.
