Hitachi Energy in Malaysia

Country Information

Hitachi Energy's history in Malaysia began when the first power generator was installed in 1904 by MFO Oerlikon which is now part of the Hitachi Energy group.  Today, most of Hitachi Energy's operations are consolidated under Hitachi Energy Malaysia Sdn Bhd which was established in 1973, with its head-office based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Backed by a presence of more than a century in Malaysia, Hitachi Energy’s innovations have helped customers to use electrical power more efficiently, to increase industrial productivity and to lower environmental impact in a sustainable way.

In meeting this challenges, we draw on the strength of our people who share their diverse talent, technical expertise, experience and commitment to make Hitachi Energy succeed.

Social well-being

Improving living conditions of the underprivileged at the Agathian Orphanage in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Nurturing young minds to meet challenges and demands of the high technology world that we live in by providing basic essentials in the form of school uniform, bags and shoes to SK. Seafield 3, SK. USJ 2 and SMK. USJ 8.

Environmental conservation

Rehabilitation and preservation of Malaysia's rich flora and fauna - our staff and their families planted 100 saplings at the Kota Damansara Community Forest.

Scholarships

We are providing support to deserving students in University Malaya through the Hitachi Energy Jürgen Dormann Foundation for Engineering Education. The Foundation provides scholarships to electrical engineering students in different parts of the world who can prove a high standard of academic achievement and who need financial support to be able to continue their studies.
