Takayuki Shimizu

Takayuki Shimizu is a Front-End Sales Specialist at Hitachi Energy Japan, where he focuses on transformers and bushings. He joined the company in November 2021 after working for 4.5 years as a sales specialist at a trading company specializing in factory automation equipment (FA).

In the future, I would like to make more frequent visits to customers which were not possible in the past two years due to the COVID situation, and we will promote initiatives that meet the needs and contribute to enhancing customer value.

I am responsible for coordinating delivery schedules and confirming product specifications with overseas factories. I also handle accreditation audits of transformer factories in Vietnam and Korea. The audit of the Vietnamese factory last year went smoothly.

In my free time, I enjoy weight training, traveling abroad, watching movies, and spending time with my family on weekends.

Discovering new opportunities, realizing dreams and hopes.

I chose Hitachi Energy for two reasons. First, I felt that the company had adopted the culture of ABB and was a flexible, international environment. Second, I joined Hitachi Energy when the company changed its name to Hitachi Energy. I thought it was an excellent opportunity to work with the team from the beginning of the name change. I was also attracted by Hitachi Energy's potential for future growth.

I am proud to work for Hitachi Energy because it is rewarding to be in the energy field, which is a growth industry. Hitachi Energy offers various opportunities for career development and an environment where I can challenge myself and do new things that I want to do.

Leading the way to a decarbonized society.

Through solutions such as EconiQ™ Transformers and digitalization, for which I am responsible, I hope to reduce environmental impact and improve energy efficiency.

I believe EconiQ™ Transformers and digitalization will help drive a sustainable energy future for all and the achievement of a decarbonized society.

Connecting the future with energy.

My first business trip to Vietnam took me to an accreditation audit of a factory there, leaving a powerful impression on me. I was pleased to meet and talk in person with members of the on-site team, with whom I had previously communicated via email and remote meetings. I also visited a transformer manufacturing facility for the first time. I was able to see firsthand Hitachi Energy's high level of technology and quality, inspiring me with the local culture. In the future, I would like further to deepen my knowledge of electrical terminology and products to be able to support the teams from Japan during business trips.

Fostering a culture of innovation.

Hitachi Energy has many factories and offices overseas, and our team consists of multinational members. Therefore, we do our best to meet our customers' needs by considering and maximizing different mindsets and skills. I think that's the best thing about our company. Even though it is sometimes difficult to understand and organize different values and ways of thinking, there is a lot to learn and be inspired every day.
