Building the future of energy transmission in Brazil

A new transformer factory strengthening Brazil's grid, accelerating the energy transition, and generating real opportunities.

A new chapter for Brazil’s energy system

Hitachi Energy is building a new transformer factory in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo. The plant is part of an investment of approximately US$200 million in Brazil, announced in 2024. Around 80% of this amount is being allocated to the construction of the new unit that will help double the company's production capacity in Brazil.

The facility will integrate more renewables into the grid, meet the growing demand from data centers and AI, and strengthen Brazil’s role as a regional energy leader.

Set to be completed by 2028, the project will create jobs, boost local development, and power progress on the road to COP30 and beyond.

Brazil has the potential. We’re helping unlock it

With more than 80% of its electricity coming from renewables, Brazil is uniquely positioned to lead the global energy transition. But to deliver that clean energy, the country needs transmission infrastructure at scale. That’s where we come in.
