Hitachi Energy is building a new transformer factory in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo, as part of an investment of approximately USD 200 million in Brazil, announced in 2024. Around 80% of this amount is allocated to the construction of the new unit, which will help double the company’s production capacity in the country.
Building on the investments announced, Hitachi Energy is now expanding its commitment with an additional USD 150 million investment across Latin America, including USD 80 million to expand the Dosquebradas transformer factory in Colombia and USD 70 million to accelerate growth at the Pindamonhangaba and Guarulhos sites in Brazil.
The investments will help integrate more renewables into the grid, meet growing demand driven by electrification, data centers and AI, and strengthen the region’s role in the global energy transition.
