Global Supply Base Management Leader

The opportunity:

Lead the strategic evolution of the global supply base to create competitive advantages in total cost, resilience, quality, and innovation. This role bridges Category Strategy and Factory Execution, transforming key suppliers from transactional vendors into strategic partners. You owe the health of the supplier ecosystem, ensuring suppliers deliver performance today while being ready for future technology, capacity, and sustainability demands.


 

How you'll make an impact:

  • Maintain a multi-tier map of critical parts/services to identify sub-tier concentration risks and hidden
  • Own the supplier journey from onboarding/qualification (with supplier Quality) through performance governance to phase-out/offboarding.
  • Run capacity and constraint “stress tests” aligned with the 3-year growth plan; flag bottlenecks and define mitigation (capacity reservation, tooling, alternates).
  • Run executive reviews for strategic and preferred suppliers covering SQDC + innovation + digital collaboration.
  • Lead structured improvement programs, ensuring measurable gains in yield, OTD, and quality; coordinate internal resources to execute action plans.
  • Own cross-functional resolution of supplier performance escalations; drive containment and sustainable corrective/preventive actions.
  • Identify “single point of failure” components and execute mitigation plans (dual sourcing, near-shoring, redesign options, inventory/capacity buffers).
  • Maintain supplier risk profiles (capacity, quality maturity, geopolitical, financial signals) and ensure mitigation plans exist for critical suppliers/materials.
  • Support the ESG adoption (CO₂ reporting/Scope 3 transparency, ethical labor audits, compliance closures) aligned to company requirements.
  • Provide supplier ecosystem and commercial feasibility input for DtV and NPI; ensure suppliers are ready (capacity, tooling, validation, change control) and support technology transfers.
  • Champion supplier digital connectivity (order confirmations, ASN, forecast visibility, master data quality) to enable real-time execution in ERP/SRM systems.
  • Contribute to make-vs-buy studies with cross-functional stakeholders and define the supplier ecosystem implications.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or Business (Master’s a plus). 
  • 10+ years in Supply Chain Management, supplier development, supplier quality, operations.
  • Demonstrate Leadership of cross-functional supplier performance and improvement projects.
  • Strong analytical skills (turn data in action plan) and executive communication.
  • Fluent in English, with other languages being an advantage. 
  • Flexibility to travel by up to 25%. 
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
