We are looking for a R&D Senior Design Electrical Engineer to join the global Distribution Transformers Engineering Standardization team.
In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert in the electrical design and optimization of liquid-filled distribution transformers. You will develop and maintain StarLiquid global technical standards, support their implementation in engineering design systems, and collaborate with factories and technology teams to deliver safe, reliable, competitive, and standardized transformer solutions. The StarLiquid program develops, maintains, and implements global design technical standards for liquid-filled distribution transformers.
You will work across global engineering organizations, R&D teams, design-system teams, product management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and transformer factories. The position combines advanced transformer electrical-design knowledge with technology development, technical-standard ownership, design optimization, change management, validation, and knowledge transfer.
*Remote based position for Dudullu-DT factory.
How you will make an impact:
- Develop and maintain StarLiquid electrical technical standards.
- Perform and review transformer electrical designs and calculations.
- Evaluate factory designs for cost, material, and performance optimization.
- Review change requests and develop technically validated solutions.
- Support implementation and testing in CDS (common design system for transformer product design), Electrical and related Engineering Systems.
- Ensure compliance with StarLiquid requirements and applicable international industry standards like IEC, IEEE, GB, CSA and others.
- Support global factories with StarLiquid implementation and technical issues.
- Prepare technical documentation and provide training and engineering support.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and software teams.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external & internal regulations, procedures & guidelines.
Your background:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Min. 8 years of experience designing liquid-filled distribution transformers using CDS Electrical, NG CDSe, or comparable transformer-design software.
- Knowledge of StarLiquid, StarX, Design Anywhere Manufacture Anywhere principles, or comparable global engineering-standardization platforms.
- Experience with design-to-value, value engineering, cost optimization, or product-platform development, global technical-standard development and implementation and performing factory engineering audits, design reviews, technical peer reviews, or design-system validation.
- Knowledge of transformer manufacturing processes and electrical-to-mechanical design interfaces, experience supporting geographically distributed transformer factories and multicultural engineering teams.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or another structured requirements and change-management system. Familiarity with SharePoint, Power BI, engineering-document-management systems, and controlled technical-publication processes.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
- Willing to travel (about 10-20% in year).
