Design Engineer -Electrical

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for the Power Transformers to join our team in Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual. The business’s comprehensive portfolio includes power transformers, traction transformers, insulation and components, digital sensors, and transformer services.

How you’ll make an impact

• The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in Power Transformer up to 765 kV Class design covering Canada countries.

• Influence specification at the tender and pre-tender stage, through conceptual discussions.

•  Responsible to prepare electrical design (Quotation) meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / Canada standards as per project schedule.

• Responsible for Preparation of Prelim Customer documents, Tender documents, Bill of materials etc. as per project schedule.

• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.

• Participation in internal design concept reviews.

• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.

• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Your background

• B.E / B. Tech Electrical Engineering.

• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in Electrical design. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.

• Understanding of Transformer Electrical Design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics

• Should have good understanding of IEEE Standards & Canadian Standards.

• Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.

• Experience on Microsoft office VBE and tools would be advantageous.

• Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.

• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
