Maintenance release of Relion® 670 series version 1.1

OCTOBER 1, 2018

A new revision of Relion® 670 series version 1.1 has been released. The new revision designation of the 670 series is 1p1r27.

The following has been corrected / improved in the new revision:

System and security related

  • Security improvements in IEC 61850, MMS protocol
    • A path traversal issue in MMS has been resolved.
  • Routing between interfaces
    • If configured erroneously, TCP/IP traffic can be routed between the different Ethernet interfaces of the IED. This has now been corrected.
  • “IED Failure” message on the LHMI
    • Some users were experiencing IEDs with LHMI’s showing “IED Failure”. This has now been corrected.
  • Semi-retain memory handling
    • The stability of the semi-retain memory handling has been improved.

Application related

  • Autorecloser uses wrong deadtime for next reclosing cycle when highspeed reclosing is inhibited
    • The autorecloser used a wrong deadtime during a reclosing cycle STARTHS – INHIBIT – START. This is now corrected to use the correct deadtimes depending on the initiated inputs.
  • Fault locator showing wrong distance
    • During conditions where there is a transient occurring before the fault, the fault locator has in some cases calculated distance to fault with a large error or no calculation has been performed.

Recommendation to update

We recommend users who have faced issues mentioned above to update to this release.

IED Connect support

Updating to the new firmware does not require any changes in the installed IED Connectivity Packages for Relion® 670 series. The connectivity packages are available in the PCM600 Update Manager.
