Protection Relay Engineer

The opportunity:

Join Hitachi Energy as a Protection Engineer and be the product expert. This role allows you to gain in-depth knowledge of the market and provide our clients with the best-in-class product. You'll play a crucial role in making a significant impact on our business growth and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities:

  • Leading up to site commissioning to ensure projects are executed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications/requirements and schedule commitments, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements.
  • You will be with hands on experience on high voltage protection and control system engineering design including schematics preparation, review of engineering documents, protection relay configuration and setting, testing commissioning/ troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of substation primary equipment & basic protection functions is desirable.
  • Power system, substation, MV/HV switchgear and protection relay knowledge is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with substation automation systems, Remote Terminal Unit (RTU), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Gateways will be a key differentiator.
     

Your background:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in Engineering Major in Electrical or Automation Control or similar field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in SAS/SCADA or protection relay domain.
• Ability to travel & support project teams & site issues in a site with limited resources.
• Connecting with large and diverse teams spread across APAC region with varied culture and languages for knowledge and return of experience sharing.
• Flexibility to work with evolving technology and Back-office resources remotely located for detail engineering.
• Proficiency in both Spoken and Written English is mandatory.
