Product Care Engineering Manager

The Opportunity


Hitachi Energy is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join its team in Savli, Vadodara, India. We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated individual to contribute to a dynamic and fast‑paced business environment. The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a challenging and evolving setting. He or she must be flexible in meeting business requirements and experienced in collaborating with diverse teams and cultures.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Collaborate with R&D and Global product support and manage the complete product life cycle for existing products, including Interrupters, Drives, and Circuit Breaker Poles.
  • Apply problem‑solving and quality tools (such as RCA, 8D, FMEA, Pareto, etc.) to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
  • Contribute to strategic product transfer projects and support the implementation of new products into manufacturing.
  • Set goals and objectives for team members and ensure the achievement of operational results.
  • Work on designing product‑specific manufacturing processes, Jigs/Fixtures and equipment. As Team Leader, supervise team members and support whenever required.
  • Prepare BOMs and Material Masters for product assemblies/components as per specifications in SAP from PLM tool. Support product localization by working closely with the supply chain and product management teams.
  • Apply engineering principles to create solutions that meet customer technical and functional requirements while ensuring good manufacturing cost and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices are understood and followed by direct reports, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare proposals, estimate project costs, plan project schedules, and support lean manufacturing, business process improvements, and resource management.
  • Provide training and share technical knowledge to the teams.
  • Take care of product maintenance, including reviewing reports, communication, and documentation with vendors and cross‑functional teams. ( Engineering Change Notification Governance)
  • Use SAP/Creo/Windchill for design and documentation tasks.
  • Understand and apply relevant national and international standards (ISO/IEC/DIN/ASME).
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • B.Tech./B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, (ME or MTECH will added advantage) with 12 to 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of high‑voltage switchgear (Live Tank Breaker, Dead Tank Breaker, Hybrid Switchgear, Gas Insulated Switchgear) and it’s main components (Interrupter & Drives).
  • Hands-on experience with 3D modeling and PLM tools such as Creo, Windchill, and SAP.
  • Strong manufacturing process knowledge (casting, machining, forging, welding, bending, injection molding, etc.).
  • Understanding of materials and related standards (ISO, DIN, IS….).
  • Knowledge of product change management processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global and cross‑functional environment.
  • Innovative and creative mindset.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
