Enabling smart and flexible grids is to emphasize the raising importance of the medium voltage SFCs as grid interties for facilitating seamless grid interconnections. This session showcases real-world intertie solutions, including interconnecting 3ph-1ph rail grids (Litrail projects), 3ph-3ph utility grids with the same frequency (WPD), 3ph-3ph industrial grids with different frequencies (Offshore platforms & Yammama) and Hydro variable speed pumped storage power plant with Converter Fed Synchronous Machine solution (Malta).
