The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a Strategic Buyer to join our team in Sevlievo, Bulgaria. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual responsible for managing all of the purchasing activities related to her/his category that are in line with the respective purchasing strategy in her/his region.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Identifies new suppliers in cooperation with relevant category team. Qualifies new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists;
  • Negotiates agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews pricelists, terms and conditions;
  • Adapts corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommends frame agreements to management, and executes upon approval;
  • Analyzes and evaluates bids in order to determine the optimal value;
  • Supports bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information;
  • Overseeing supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues;
  • Aligns supplier orders with customer requirements (based on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/project requirements) in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price;
  • Conducts all SCM activities for goods and services in accordance with policies and procedures;
  • Ensures the global supplier relationship management platform is updated and the suppliers in the scope of responsibilities are qualified accordingly.

Your background:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering or similar field;
  • At least 2 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain;
  • Experience with an ERP system will be an advantage;
  • Experience in Project Management would be a plus;
  • Good level in English; Strong negotiation skills;
  • Good time management and task prioritization;
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies;
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
