The opportunity

The Hitachi Energy campus in Łódź is a comprehensive center for the development and production of transformers. Each of us contributes to the creation of devices that, although produced locally, have a global significance, becoming essential components of large-scale projects that impact millions of people worldwide.

We are currently looking for a person for the position of Operations Manager at our Distribution Transformer plant (DTR).

Location: Łódź

There is a high probability that devices from this plant impact your daily life – this modern, automated facility is the second largest distribution transformer factory in the Hitachi Energy Group worldwide and the only Hitachi Energy oil distribution transformer plant in Europe.

Every year, the devices produced here reach hundreds of customers from dozens of countries around the Europe . Each device is manufactured to individual order.

As Operation Manager in DTR plant, you will have an opportunity to lead the Operations function at local level.

You will have full accountability of running the day-to-day Operation and meeting  customers’ expectations through Lean, faultless operation execution (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Implement and support Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards and regulations.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and continuous improvement in HSE processes.
  • Execute and relentlessly implement a customer-focused Operations strategy.
  • Support Sales during customer visits to explain manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies that drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability to ensure alignment with overall business objectives
  • Ensure on-time project execution
  • Deploy and continuously improve the Quality strategy.
  • Develop and improve business processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Define and deliver annual budget for  OpEx expenses.
  • Balance installed capacity with customer demand and workload.
  • Proactive management of operational risk

Your background:

  • Minimum 8-year relevant experience in manufacturing area (at least 3 years in managerial positions)
  • Experience in managing through sub-managers and in shop floor area
  • Fluent knowledge of Polish and English languages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a multicultural, diverse group of stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills with team-oriented attitude in safety & integrity, quality & customer focus, ownership & performance, collaboration & trust
  • Good planning and organization skills (typically accountable for budget and policy recommendations and medium-term planning)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies
  • Can-do attitude –confident and willing to deal with problems or new tasks attitude
