Instructional Designer

The Opportunity

Join Hitachi Energy as an Instructional Designer at our Mt. Pleasant and Greensburg plants in Pennsylvania! Be part of our vision to create a state-of-the-art Training Center of Excellence. You'll work with manufacturing experts to develop engaging, skill-based learning content that drives our growth strategy. This role offers a unique chance to shape the future of our training programs and make a significant impact on our workforce.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Develop skill-based learning objectives, outcomes, and content.

  • Create engaging training materials including videos, infographics, and interactive elements.

  • Interpret skill matrices and needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement training solutions.

  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance in all training materials.

  • Record and edit voice narration for training content.

  • Support internal and external audits and manage state grant funds.

  • Continuously improve training processes and materials.

Your Background

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in designing content and training adults in manufacturing, engineering, sciences, or technology industries.

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Technology, Science, or Instructional Design.

  • Experience in a union environment is a plus.

  • Proficiency with tools like Adonis, Cornerstone LMS, XECM, Camtasia, Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
