Mechanical Plant Design Engineer

The opportunity

The Mechanical Plant Design department at HVDC is now looking for a Design Engineer to join the team with focus on Backbone/Base solutions. You are welcome in our energetic team with mainly experienced, but also young engineers and colleagues of diverse nationalities around the world. We work closely within the various design teams and collaborate with engineering teams in Sweden and abroad.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Work in advanced high-end CAD software(s) to perform CAD activities such as 3D-modelling of parts, assemblies and drawings for both details and plant design.
  • Deliver commitments on time and with good quality. 
  • Evaluating, selecting and applying standard techniques and procedures to perform Station layout design and detail design of steel structures and other components.
  • Preparing proposals/presentations of engineering projects/programs i.e. provision of bill of materials etc.
  • Preparing project documentation, effective interaction with colleagues from different parts of the company.
  • Work according to safety standards and with mitigation of potential risks.

Your background

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience or interest in 3D-Modeling and performing 2D-drawings/layouts in Software tools NX/TC or similar
  • Experience of working in BIM
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new Technologies.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
  • Experience or eagerness to develop in engineering of High Voltage substation Project.
