Mechanical Designer 80 - 100% (f/m/d)

The opportunity

You will join Hitachi Energy and support technical product development and research activities within a dynamic engineering environment. In this role, you will contribute to the development of Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) components, working closely with cross-functional teams to support innovation and efficient project execution.

This position offers hands-on involvement in design processes, exposure to advanced engineering tools, and collaboration across product development and manufacturing functions.

How you’ll make an impact
 

  • Develop and optimize GIS components and assemblies within the GLK-14 project scope

  • Support engineering activities related to HVPLM and SAP systems

  • Prepare, review, and update technical drawings and design documentation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design quality and manufacturability

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and engineering workflows
     

Your background
 

  • Completed apprenticeship as a Mechanical Designer or equivalent qualification

  • Initial experience in mechanical design and technical drawing preparation

  • Familiarity with engineering IT systems (e.g. PLM, SAP) is an advantage

  • Structured and detail-oriented way of working

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within technical teams
