Jan Faulhaber - My Power Grids Story

Meet Our People | Zurich, Switzerland | 10.06.2020 | 2 min read

“I am proud to be Power Grids because we go different ways than mainstream and see solutions where others see problems."

As a Site Manager for Power Grids Germany, my working place is changing every day. It’s wonderful to see an engineered plan is becoming a reality. Every day has different challenges to overcome and its fantastic to see a project “growing” and all participants working together in a team to reach customers’ satisfaction.

A good team culture is one of the most important issues on site. Happy people work with passion and focus together on one target to finish together. I like the feeling knowing everybody is working hand in hand, supporting each other and sharing experiences. That’s what’s my favourite part is—because in a plant, there are so many different experts needed: from engineering, project man-agement, civil expert, client delegates or government officials--all come together in the site.

I’m managing a project in Germany called Obermooweiler. We are installing the world’s first 380-kilovolt SF6 alternative gas-insulated switchgear, with an eco-efficient solution called AirPlus. I’m proud to be part of this project and gain my personal part to make the future greener and set a good foundation for upcoming projects like this one.

Together, Hitachi and Power Grids can evolve much more power to make the world better and reach customers’ satisfaction. I’m looking forward to join an even larger global company with social innovation at the core of its business culture.
