My Power Grids Story - Karla Laínez, Sweden

"Nowadays, all stakeholders - from utilities to public entities - are well on their way towards digitalization. During this pathway, our team (Power Consulting) supports customers by addressing their challenges in the digital era, smart grids, smart meters, big data, cybersecurity, software solutions, regulation, among others.

Digitalization is a great importance when it comes to optimization of the operation and assets and extraction of meaningful data. Both help us to compare solutions based on the technical, economic and environmental impacts.  

My role as a Senior Consultant and Global Champion of Hydrogen businesses in the Power Consulting team of Hitachi ABB Power Grids, allows me to work with both internal and external stakeholders to support their businesses and align their strategies to the fast-paced transition that power sector is experiencing.

I love the international, inclusive, and innovative culture rooted in our daily work. It also allows me to work with diverse of colleagues around the world and I do believe that the Power Consulting team creates an environment where people can develop and grow based on potential, performance and recognition regardless of gender. The most important pillar is the customer focus. We do not only try to meet our customer’s expectations; we try to exceed them!
