The Opportunity

At Hitachi Energy, we are committed to creating a culture where Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) excellence is not just a goal, but a mindset.

We are looking for a passionate and proactive HSE professional to join our team in Spain. This is more than a technical role — it’s a leadership opportunity for someone who can inspire, motivate, and challenge others to embrace change and continuously improve.

You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, working closely with project managers, site managers, and global HSE leaders. Your mission will be to embed a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization, ensuring compliance, driving innovation, and leading by example.

This role offers the chance to grow within a global organization, contribute to strategic initiatives, and lead impactful programs that shape the future of safety and integrity in our operations.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Lead and promote a proactive safety culture across all projects and teams.

  • Coordinate and implement HSE plans, audits, and legal compliance reviews.

  • Active involvement in construction projects, ensuring the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental measures, particularly in complex or high-risk scenarios such as the expansion of operational facilities.

  • Deliver training and coaching to supervisors and project teams.

  • Drive incident investigations and lead root cause analysis.

  • Monitor and report safety performance, KPIs, and lessons learned.

  • Support contractor qualification and safety documentation processes.

  • Participate in design reviews and promote Safety by Design principles.

  • Lead national HSE initiatives, including Safety Day and committee meetings.

 Your background

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (PRL).

  • Proven experience in HSE roles within industrial or construction environments.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and local HSE regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication and training skills.

  • Fluent in English and Spanish. Any other languages are a plus.
