HSE and Sustainability Specialist

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will collaborate closely with the HUB HSE and Sustainability Manager to provide strategic direction in the country, bringing rigor through operational discipline, in line with the Service BU strategy and Hitachi Energy’s requirements, provide support, leadership and advice to ensure consistency in the implementation, application and compliance with the HSE annual operating plan, provide support and ensure Local Service Unit operate in compliance with the HSE Operating System Standards, Life Saving Rules and High-risk activities in the LSU.

  • You will drive HSE legal compliance and control the conformity, provide strong leadership to promote a high-performance culture, role modeling and reinforcing the behaviors that will underpin Service business growth, act as a change management agent, serving as the Technical Authority and contribute to effective risk management of HSE related issues by providing specialist knowledge.

  • You will ensure timely and accurate reporting for Environmental data for the local service unit to be consolidated into the Service BU reporting and to the Sustainability reporting of Hitachi Energy, ensure timely notification of HSE incidents, investigations, preventive and corrective actions and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • You will ensure safe execution of service activities by being involved in the project planification, preparation and execution, visit sites activities to ensure compliance with HE’s HSE and customer’s requirements, lead/review investigations of HSE incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and if necessary, the Fair Process investigations.

  • You will foster a proactive and positive culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance by implementing best practices and innovative solutions, promote Hitachi Energy HSE and Sustainability culture to our clients, other departments and employee groups.

  • You will manage and develop the HSE Specialists supporting the LSU, need to frequently travel for periodic site visits, audits, workshops, trainings.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • You hold engineering degree or a bachelor’s degree in HSE required (engineering can be in any discipline if supported by proven HSE experience).

  • Minimum of 10 years of strong HSE experience, preferably in high-risk industries such as Oil & Gas, Power, or related fields.

  • Proven expertise in risk assessment, mitigation planning, high-risk activities mgmt.

  • Experience in leading HSE projects, fostering safety culture, and implementing innovative solutions and best practices.

  • Service experience is not mandatory but will be considered a plus. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in other languages will be considered a plus.
