General Information:

Manufacturing Engineering includes tasks directly targeted to improve quality, productivity and overall OPEX performance by focusing on the development of standards, processes, and the utilization of facilities and staff to improve production or related operations.  It also encompasses process flow, production layout, equipment repair, as well as tooling design. 

Under general guidance, the Manufacturing Engineer will perform various engineering duties requiring the exercise of judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices. Pursue initiatives to improve effectiveness of the group, process flow, quality and increase customer satisfaction.

Drives sustainable and transformational change across the extended Factory Value Chain, focused on ITM (Integrated Transformer Management) maturity and demonstrated improvement in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement activities while using ITM tools to drive optimization of KPIs around Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of manufacturing tooling, fixturing, and possible equipment modifications. When required, ensure these designs or modification receive the required PE certification and MOC.
  • Provides support with TPM plans and spare part management for production equipment.
  • Developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
  • Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development, test, installation, and service, while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other pertinent information.
  • Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application, and recommend revisions, as appropriate.
  • Plan, conduct or coordinate relatively straight-forward engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries, for review.
  • Participate in the investigation of technical problems and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
  • Availability to travel both domestic and international.
  • Complexity of Tasks: Duties require thorough understanding of standard engineering theories, lean manufacturing concepts, principles, and techniques. Work is subject to general overview to ensure quality.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments may be considered. (ex. Associates Degree and 5+ years of Transformer Production and Design Experience)
  • Computer experience in Windows, Excel, Word, and AutoCAD.
  • Adequate knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to grasp modern technology quickly.
  • Hands on diagnostic skills in mechanical and electrical applications.
  • Self-motivated/Self-driven, enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior. 
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
