R&D Electrical Engineer for Liquid-filled distribution transformers

Mission Statement:

Contribute to delivery of R&D projects within Liquid-filled distribution transformers by preparation of designs, models, and drawings as well as coordination of prototypes manufacturing and execution of testing. Cooperate with team members and external partners to assure on-time and on-quality outputs. Propose improvements and optimizations bringing cost savings, reducing complexity while fulfilling requirements.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Propose and analyze innovative ideas in the electrical design of distribution transformers to fulfill the challenging technical requirements of transformer for new markets.
  • Define Design of Experiments for validating the proposed solutions
  • Design and supervision of the manufacturing and testing of the prototypes.
  • Lead the R&D project execution, to ensure the performance, time and cost are within the expectations.
  • Document project progress, obtain conclusions and derive the design rules of the validated solutions.
  • Protect the validated solutions by applying the corresponding IP solution.
  • Support other R&D colleagues from all Hitachi Energy R&D community by analyzing and optimizing the electrical design of other R&D projects.
  • Provide punctual technical support to factories, salespeople and customers.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering or similar. Higher formal educational will be meriting.
  • Experience in electrical design of transformers – nice to have.
  • Advanced knowledge of magnetic, dielectric and/or thermal design
  • Background in use of electrical FEM simulation shall be well valuable.
  • Initiative, creativity, “out of the box” thinking and great attention to detail
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented approach, and strong communication skills
  • Project managements skills
  • English proficient, both written and spoken
