An automated hardware test engineer designs, develops, and implements automated test processes for hardware components and systems. Responsibilities include writing automated test scripts using programming languages like Python or C++, using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, and debugging hardware and test setups. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality, functionality, and stability of electronic devices through automated and systematic testing.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Develop automated test systems: Design and implement automated testing frameworks, tools, and scripts to test hardware functionality and stability.
  • Write test scripts: Create scripts to simulate user interactions or test specific hardware functions, such as those involving wireless protocols like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
  • Test hardware components: Use specialized test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers to validate hardware performance.
  • Debug and troubleshoot: Investigate and debug issues found during automated testing, both in the hardware itself and in the test scripts or setup.
  • Collaborate with teams: Work with software developers and other engineers to identify defects, improve product quality, and ensure test requirements are met.
  • Maintain test infrastructure: Update and maintain the automated test environment as hardware and software products evolve.
  • Perform regression testing: Develop and run automated regression tests to ensure new changes haven't broken existing functionality.
