Founded in 2011, Hitachi Energy Power System Co., Ltd. is a local branch of Hitachi Energy in China. It has a complete HVDC technology transfer contract with the headquarters in Switzerland. The company focuses on providing HVDC solutions including HVDC System Design, Classic and VSC converter valve, DC yard equipment, C&P system, as well as HVDC Life-cycle services for different applications such as large scale transmission, Offshore Wing Connection, Power from Shore, Back-to-Back and DC in AC grids and so on.
Hitachi Energy Power System Co., Ltd. always shares the same technical platform with our headquarter of HVDC business in Sweden, who has a reference list with more than 100 HVDC projects in successful operation around the world, and more than 30 of these are in China. Even the China local team had been participated in more than 10 domestic HVDC projects.
The company always actively joins China’s HVDC projects, and faithfully embrace China’s One Belt and Road strategy. As so far, we have been provided essential equipments like Converter Valve, DC Breakers and Bushings etc. for many China’s HVDC projects like Xiangjiaba - Shanghai ±800kV, Jinping - Sunan ±800kV, Hami - Zhengzhou ±800kV, Jiuquan - Hunan ±800kV, Jinbei - Nanjing ±800kV, Changji – Guquan ±1100kV, Yunnan – Guangdong ±1100kV, Zhangbei VSC, Wudongde multi-end VSC, Rudong OWC and Baihetan-Jiangsu Hybrid projects. We have achieved remarkable results in these projects, and appraised for our efficient project execution and excellent quality management.
It is worth mentioning that Changji - Guquan ±1100 kV DC project in 2016, which was ranked as top 1 both in voltage and transmission capacity in the world.Zhangbei ± 535kv VSC project we won in 2018 is honored as the first VSC grid project in the world. In 2020, the company was awarded with Rudong OWC project, which was the first VSC OWC project in China.
At the beginning of 2012, Hitachi Energy Power System Co., Ltd. had been completed the type test of ±800kV converter valve complies with IEC standard. In 2012, we obtained ISO9001:2008 quality management certificate, ISO14001:2004 environmental management system certificate and OHSAS18001:2007 occupational health and safety management system certificate. In February 2018, the company successfully passed the new version of iso9001:2015 certification, iso14001:2015 environmental management system certification and OHSAS18001:2007 occupational health and safety management system certification. In 2020, OHSAS18001:2007 certification had been upgraded to iso45001:2018 occupational health and safety management system standard.
The company has a total plant area of 29660 m2. We have a full set of production lines of flexible DC converter valves and classic converter valves. We are capable of carrying out all type tests of HVDC converter valves. We can use the certified laboratories approved by (STL, sats and CIGRE). We have been signed multilateral accreditation agreements with major countries around the world (EU, Oceania, USA, Canada, Israel, etc.). At the same time, we have rich test experience, advanced test equipment and instruments, and scientific and standardized test methods.
