Thuy Kamphausen #BreakTheBias

My name is Thuy Kamphausen, I am a Business and Project Controller in the Front End Sales Team, Switzerland. I am originally from Vietnam and started my career ten years ago at our Transformer Factory in Hanoi as a financial trainee. After two years of the trainee program, which included being stationed and joining our diverse and inclusive work cultures in Hanoi, Zurich and North Carolina, I was appointed as a financial controller for the medium and large substations and rail projects. Most of these Hitachi Energy projects were built in the Middle and Far East and Europe. In my current role in the Swiss Sales Team, I am the contact person for all financial topics regarding our tenders in the Swiss Market.

Close connection to colleagues, customers and partners

Being a part of the Front End Sales Team gives me an opportunity to connect with Hitachi Energy factories to the customers. We help them build the transmission and distribution infrastructure to supply electricity to people, cities and villages in Switzerland.

Our team advises customers in relation to the eco-friendly and clean energy solutions from our Hitachi Energy portfolio. For example the SF6-free AIS circuit breaker or the LTA 72.5kV –  high voltage circuit breaker – which will be installed in a substation in Travers, in the western part of Switzerland, in 2022, for one of our strategic customers.

No matter where I am, looking out the window of my car, out of the train, out of the office I am proud to be Hitachi Energy, because I see the Hitachi Energy substations we have built and installed together as a team with our partners and customers.

Thanks to this high-tech infrastructure, a global energy supply is possible, which has a really positive impact on life in civil society.

Actively addressing challenges

I like challenges. Which is why I remember receiving a compliment for my problem solving mindset. When I recognize an issue, I act promptly to organize resources to find solutions. Also, what gives me a good feeling each day, is the fact that we are operating in a paper free office – our own initiative to reduce environment resources.
