The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will generate and maintain the thermal calculation tool for temperature rise and casting process of bushing products with software like COMSOL and/or FLUENT.

2. You will reinforce cooling program of design platform and propose, contribute to, and lead research and development projects for thermal topics.

3. You will maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the latest numerical analysis technologies, algorithms, and software packages. Recognize opportunities for their practical application in industrial conditions.

4. you will actively promote your knowledge within the company and outside, collaborate with local and global external partners, including universities, startups, and vendors contributing to technical standards development.

5. You will disseminate your results in technical reports, scientific publications, research conferences, and patent applications.

6. You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a master’s or higher degree in Power Engineering, thermal physics, or related field.

2. Fundamentals in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, thermal management, dynamic and static analysis with deep understanding of thermal domain.

3. Knowledge of CFD/FEM analysis (e.g., Ansys Fluent/CFX, COMSOL) and principals of CAD modeling (e.g. PTC Creo, SolidWorks, NX).

4. Understanding of natural and forced convection, turbulence models, radiative heat exchange.

5. Knowledge about heat generation due to electro-magnetic effects (ohmic and magnetic losses) will be a plus.

6. 6Basic knowledge of writing of User Defined Functions and/or Python programming language will be a plus.

7. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
