Innovation Framework Architecture Lead (Specialist Professional)

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is seeking a strategic Innovation Framework Architecture Lead to shape the next generation of Open Innovation offerings and programs for our global transformer business. In this strategic role, you will architect, implement, and scale a suite of high impact innovation products to accelerate open innovation engagement and entrepreneurship, such as startup challenges, venture-clienting, venture building and business models to entrepreneurial capability building programs, focused on accelerating innovation and delivering tangible value for our customers, partners, and business leaders.

This is a unique opportunity to architect how to collaborate with partners and startups, scale new technologies, and build future‑ready capabilities. You will transform insights into strategic innovation activities and processes. Working at the intersection of product strategy, service design, governance, and cross‑functional collaboration, you will own the architecture and lifecycle of these offerings from concept to global rollout.

How you will make an impact

  • Architect high‑impact Open Innovation (OI) products, crafting service blueprints, value propositions, user journeys, and delivery frameworks that deliver tangible value to startups, partners, and internal business owners.

  • Own and steer the global Open Innovation activities roadmap, defining prioritization criteria and driving the full lifecycle of innovation offerings from concept to scale.

  • Lead rapid concept testing, prototyping, and validation cycles, using evidence‑based insights to refine product architecture before rollout.

  • Set clear readiness criteria, quality standards, and success metrics to ensure offerings are consistent, scalable, and impactful across all regions.

  • Drive cross functional alignment by working closely with R&D, Engineering, Product Management, Operations, SCM, Legal, Quality, Sustainability, HR, Sales & Marketing, and Business Development to ensure strong adoption innovation activities and processes.

  • Partner with Innovation operations and scouting initiatives to transition products smoothly from design to execution and feed delivery learnings back into continuous product improvement.

  • Communicate strategic value and business impact by preparing product‑level governance materials, dashboards, business cases, and performance insights for senior leadership.

  • Equip regional teams for success through toolkits, playbooks, training, coaching, and best‑practice sharing, enabling globally consistent, high‑quality delivery.

Your background

  • Degree in Engineering, Innovation Management, Product Management, Business Innovation, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in innovation/product management, venture‑clienting/building, corporate innovation programs, or scaling structured innovation offerings in a global context

  • Direct, hands-on experience in designing, validating, and scaling innovation offerings is highly valued,

  • Strong capability in service design, product architecture, and modular experience design, with proven ability to translate user needs into scalable product components.

  • Demonstrated experience designing, validating, and scaling innovation programs (accelerators, challenge programs, venture‑clienting, venture building, capability academies).

  • Excellent cross‑functional leadership and stakeholder management skills across technical and business domains.

  • Strategical, analytical and data‑driven mindset, comfortable defining KPIs and iterating offerings based on insights.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence adoption across regions and leadership levels.

  • Passion for Open Innovation, startup ecosystems, customer‑centricity, and building offerings that create measurable business impact.
