The Opportunity

Step into a pivotal role where innovation, leadership, and global collaboration meet. As R&D Engineering Team Lead, you will build and guide a newly established R&D team in Alamo, playing a key role in advancing bushing technologies that power reliable energy systems worldwide. This is a unique chance to shape the direction of local R&D while contributing to global product roadmaps, working closely with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, laboratories, and Hitachi Research Centers. 

You will balance people leadership and hands-on technical contribution, creating an environment where curiosity, safety, and high performance thrive. From early-stage ideas through prototype manufacturing and testing, your influence will ensure projects are delivered with quality, speed, and impact. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and inter-nal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

How you’ll make an impact 

  • Build and lead a new R&D team in Alamo supporting global bushing R&D 
  • Guide R&D projects to successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline 
  • Support and develop team members through coaching and performance management 
  • Provide technical guidance throughout project execution 
  • Collaborate with planning, production, and laboratory teams on prototype execution 
  • Monitor project costs and provide regular status and cost reports 
  • Foster innovation and contribution to product roadmaps 
  • Collaborate globally with R&D teams, factories, and engineering partners 
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and interal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

 Your background 

  • Master’s degree or higher in engineering or applied sciences 
  • More than 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in the energy sector 
  • Experience with project management and multi-year projects 
  • Strong leadership and people development capabilities 
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills 
  • Fluency in English
