The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes for bushings (e.g., insulation systems, impregnation, assembly, drying processes)and identify process bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives also lead process design for new product introductions (NPI) to ensure manufacturability and scalability, define and improve critical process parameters (CPPs) and process stability.

2. You will act as a key technical contributor in R&D projects, focusing on process aspects, collaborate with design, testing, and technology teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing (DfM)and support development of new technologies and translate them into industrial processes also participate in pilot production / prototype builds and industrialization activities.

3. You will propose and implement innovative process technologies and methodologies, evaluate and introduce new materials, equipment, and digital tools also contribute to patents, invention disclosures, or technical know-how.

4. You will define and support process validation plans and qualification activities, ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and internal quality requirements and analyze test results (e.g., dielectric, thermal, mechanical performance) and link them to process performance also support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product/process deviations.

5. You will contribute to technology roadmap and process strategy development, monitor industry trends and best practices in insulation and manufacturing processes also drive initiatives related to cost reduction, process robustness, Sustainability / environmental improvements.

6. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and support knowledge transfer between R&D and factories.

7. You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. You hold a master’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or similar fields.

2. Experience in transformer/bushing technology or high-voltage insulation systems, manufacturing processes.

3. Strong understanding of Insulation systems and dielectric behavior, manufacturing processes and process control, testing and qualification methods.

4. Analytical and problem-solving mindset with strong innovation and continuous improvement orientation.

5. Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams.

6. Structured approach to project execution and documentation.

7. Fluent in English.
