The opportunity

In this role you drive excellence in quality, delivery, and compliance for the supply base. Furthermore, you ensure global processes are understood and implemented by the SCM network. As Supplier Quality Management Specialist – Lean Manufacturing you will work closely with Hitachi Energy High Voltage Supply Chain, Technical Center, Group Product Service Engineering, Quality, and the Global SCM team on all activity required to effectively support supplier manufacturing process development (Quality and Capacity) based on Lean Manufacturing methodology for assigned High Voltage commodities and suppliers.

How you’ll make an impact

Lean Manufacturing Implementation & Coaching

  • Lead or co-lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops at supplier sites to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve flow.
  • Develop and deliver Lean training and coaching to supplier engineering, quality, and production teams to build sustainable internal capability.
  • Support suppliers in developing Lean transformation roadmaps aligned with company expectations and timelines

Capacity Management

  • Assess supplier production capacity, line balancing, and bottleneck constraints; support capacity studies and ramp-up/ramp-down planning.
  • Work with suppliers to improve throughput and flexibility using Lean flow principles rather than solely through capital investment.
  • Support risk assessments for capacity constraints affecting supply continuity and escalate risks to Supplier Quality/Commodity management

Program & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop and track supplier improvement plans with clear milestones, owners, and measurable outcomes tied to QCC metrics.
  • Report supplier Lean maturity, quality performance, cost savings, and capacity status to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Represent Supplier Quality in cross-functional meetings (Sourcing, Engineering, Operations) regarding supplier performance and risk.
  • Maintain supplier scorecards and Lean maturity assessments; conduct periodic on-site audits/assessments

Your background
