How you’ll make an impact

• You will perform complex installations, commissioning, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of Hitachi industrial equipment, systems, and solutions at customer sites also analyze intricate technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective, long-term solutions to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.

• You will develop and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a primary technical point of contact and ensuring exceptional service delivery also prepare detailed service reports, document technical findings, and maintain accurate records of all field activities and equipment history. 

• You will have strong knowledge of Protection fundamentals and functions, applications with hands on experience with high voltage protection and control system engineering design including schematics preparation, review of engineering documents, protection relay configuration, testing commissioning/ troubleshooting. Knowledge of substation primary equipment & basic protection functions is desirable. 

• You will support in power system, substation and HV GIS & TR/MV switchgear knowledge is an advantage with prior experience with Hitachi Energy will be a key differentiator and conversant with design tools like E3 or equivalent for substation layouts, cable schedules, wiring and termination charts is an advantage with good verbal and written communication skills are essential, proven ability to handle customer comments and approval responses to support project manager in project engineering is a must. 

• You act as the champion for Hitachi Energy processes and policies, contribute to development of standard processes and work instructions by adopting Hitachi internal as well as industry best practices. Ensures lessons learned from all execution are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated as continuous improvement actions.  

• You will promote and enforce safe working environment by enforcing and supporting adequate HSE measures in all activities undertaken by himself & the team, follow ethics and compliances as per company guidelines and connect with large and diverse teams spread across APAC region with varied culture and languages for knowledge and return of experience sharing. 

• You will have flexibility to work with evolving technology and Back-office resources remotely located for detail engineering and ability to travel & support project teams & site issues in a constrained environment. 

• You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

• You hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering Major in Electrical or similar field.

• At least 7 years of hands-on experience in SAS/Protection and control domain with strong knowledge of Protection fundamentals and functions, applications. 

• Ensure safe working procedures and practices are always followed including usage of Personal Protective Equipment, reporting of injury/ incidents/ hazards/ near miss events and prevention measures incorporating lessons learnt.  

• Delivery Results - Prioritize, Act, Achieve and being results orientation - drive to exceed goals & improve business practices for higher performance levels.

• Teamwork & collaboration - actively demonstrate teamwork & facilitate collaboration also act responsibly with safety, integrity & transparency.

• Experience and knowledge in Digital sub-stations is an added advantage. 

• Experience in Creating Singleline diagrams, Protection logic diagrams, Communication diagrams, Technical and Engineering documents. 

• Proficiency in both Spoken and Written English is mandatory.
