Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Service Engineer you'll be joining the Grid Integration business reporting to the Country Operations Manager.  This varied role will be based on various customer sites throughout Ireland joining a great team culture and a great working environment the encourages you to come as you are and take ownership of your own career with us here at Hitachi Energy.

As the new Senior Service Engineer, you will be expected to travel to customer sites when needed and will be re-quired for significant maintenance tasks and on an impromptu basis main duty will include Installation Commissioning & Maintenance and Repair of the Hitachi Energy and similar manufacturers product portfolio

The position can offer a hybrid nature, with travel to sites as required.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Provide technical support, repair and maintenance activity for customers and the team.
  • Ensure conformity to the Hitachi Energy Electrical Safety Management System.
  • Ensuring a strong relationship with our valued customers. 
  • To maintain a safe working environment for all site employees & mitigate the risks. 
  • Ensure ethical behaviours in line with Hitachi Energy code of conduct.
  • Maintain Maintenance Management System, complete all customer fault reports & commissioning documentation where required in a timely manner.
  • Manage the safety, electrical and environmental risks associated with the service business.
  • From time to time a requirement for short term travel outside Ireland to attend customer FAT and Commissioning.

Your background 

  • Qualified Electrician with High Voltage Power Systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical industry, particularly High Voltage areas.
  • Relay programming/fault finding knowledge in control & protection.
  • Experience of one of, 38KV / 110KV or 220KV/ 400KV Equipment.
  • Background in the power sector service & maintenance would be desired.
  • Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Knowledge of Hitachi Energy offerings of products and services would be ideal but not essential.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
