We are now looking for a Business R&D Team Leader to join our organization. In this role, you will take on a key position combining technical leadership and people management, with accountability for design ownership, technical quality, and long-term capability development within R&D.

You will lead a cross-functional team covering hardware, software, optical and mechanical engineering, ensuring strong technical direction and high product quality across the full lifecycle. This role is central to strengthening our R&D capabilities and supporting continued growth in a global, matrix organization.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Lead and develop a team of HW & SW engineers and consultants within Business R&D
  • Take ownership of technical design, quality, and long-term sustainability of products
  • Drive R&D strategies aligned with business objectives and technology roadmap
  • Oversee the full R&D lifecycle – from concept and design to testing and pilot implementation
  • Ensure strong architectural integrity and technical direction across projects
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions to integrate R&D outcomes into products
  • Manage resources, priorities, and competence development in a matrix organization
  • Support innovation, continuous improvement, and future capability building within the team

Your background

  • MSc or PhD in Engineering or a related technical field
  • 8–10+ years of experience in R&D, product development, or innovation
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, combining people management and technical responsibility
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering environments (hardware, software, mechanical or optical)
  • Experience working with full product lifecycle, including testing, verification, and industrialization
  • Ability to drive technical strategy while managing complexity in a global matrix organization
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in building teams, structures, and ways of working is highly valued
