Technical & Design Promotion Manager | Hitachi Energy
day 2
Tuesday 5 May
11:00 P.M. - 11:50 P.M.
EconiQ® SF6-free technology overview and roadmap

The presentation will provide an overview of the SF6-free high-voltage portfolio of switchgear and circuit breakers. Speakers will explain the technology and their associated benefits. They will also compare different solutions in terms of their carbon impact during the full product lifecycle. The session will also offer a broad overview of the EconiQ portfolio.

The final section will be focused on the newly introduced EconiQ station service voltage transformer (SSVT) which delivers reliable, rapidly deployable auxiliary power, making it suitable for remote sites, utility substations, renewables, data centers, and critical infrastructure.

day 3
Wednesday 6 May
11:00 P.M. - 11:50 P.M.
Strengthening the US power grid with SF6-free EconiQ® Dead Tank Circuit Breaker

To meet rising electrical demand, boost transmission efficiency, and improve grid reliability, the United States is shifting towards more 800 kV systems. These planned electrical super-highways will link resource-rich generation areas to major load centers with demand increase driven by electrification, AI, Data Centers and more.

The EconiQ SF6-free 800 kV Dead Tank Circuit Breaker (DTB) matches the rating and performance of conventional SF6 breakers while staying in the same footprint. This new product is a key enabler in the transition away from SF6 in the electrical system.

The presentation will cover the requirements of ongoing development and technical feasibility. It will also examine the impact of the 800 kV grid on lower transmission ratings and explore how the EconiQ 345 kV SF6-free breaker with 80 kA capability can supplement these needs.

3:30 P.M. – 4:50 P.M.
AI Datacenter Integration: A Utility Perspective

This panel session will provide a utility perspective of integrating a gigawatt-scale AI datacenter into an existing transmission system. Panelists will provide perspective on challenges including reactive power considerations, harmonics, flicker, datacenter variable load profile, and sub synchronous oscillations. Effects on existing generation infrastructure will be discussed, as well as some of the challenges experienced in construction of the new transmission lines and substations.

day 4
Thursday 7 May
12:00 P.M. - 12:50 P.M.
Decarbonization in action: The SF6-free EconiQ® Gas-Insulated Substations

This presentation will focus on the SF6-free Gas-Insulated Substations portfolio. Speakers will explain the technology and the C4-FN gas mixture benefits for metal-enclosed switchgear, considering scalability, reliability, lifecycle carbon impact and how much this portfolio fits US grid requirements.

This session will also introduce the updated EconiQ roadmap and provide a broad overview of the EconiQ portfolio.

The final section will be focused on return on experiences for new substations but also for existing assets where SF₆ in high-voltage gas-insulated lines (GIL) can be replaced with an eco-efficient gas mixture to improve the environmental and lifecycle performance of the equipment.
