Hitachi Energy has been recognized in the Financial Times Europe’s Climate Leaders 2026 ranking.

Now in its sixth edition, the ranking is developed by the Financial Times in partnership with Statista and supported by data from CDP and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). It highlights 600 companies demonstrating strong climate performance. The assessment considers reductions in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and emissions intensity between 2019 and 2024, as well as broader climate engagement, including CDP scores and alignment with SBTi.

Hitachi Energy achieved a score of 68.35, placing in the top 25 percent of Europe Climate Leaders 2026. This reflects significant progress in reducing environmental impact while supporting the energy transition.

In FY2024, the company’s combined Scope 1 and 2 emissions totaled 91.9 kt CO2e. This represents 75 percent reduction since 2019. Reductions since 2019 have been achieved by the Scope 1 and 2 reduction strategy, primarily driven by Hitachi Energy’s Fossil Free Electricity program and SF6 management.

This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to lowering emissions across our operations and strengthening our targets.

Through innovation, collaboration, and ambitious climate action, we are not only reducing our footprint but also helping customers and partners decarbonize at scale.

Global Head of Sustainability

The ranking also emphasizes transparency, including disclosure of Scope 3 emissions, highlighting the importance of accountability and collaboration across value chains.

Hitachi Energy remains focused on reducing direct greenhouse gas emissions through investment in cleaner technologies and by embedding sustainability across its operations. Working closely with customers and partners, the company is advancing electrification and enabling the integration of renewable energy, which are key drivers of a low carbon future.

This recognition reflects the collective efforts of teams across the organization to deliver solutions that lower environmental impact and support customers in achieving their sustainability goals.
