Maintenance release of Relion® 670 series version 1.2 (1.2.3.21)
A new revision of Relion 670 series version 1.2 has been released. The designation of this update is revision 1.2.3.21. For REB670 customized, the revision is 1.2.4.16.

Recommendation to update
Mandatory to update firmware:
- When the LDCM module exists in 670 products 1.2.3.17 or earlier
- When the LDCM module exists in REB670 customized products 1.2.4.12 or earlier
Advised but not mandatory to update firmware:
- When the LDCM module exists in 670 products 1.2.3.18, 1.2.3.19, 1.2.3.20
- When the LDCM module exists in REB670 customized products 1.2.4.13, 1.2.4.14, 1.2.4.15
IED Connect support
Updating to the new firmware does not require any changes in the installed IED Connectivity Packages for Relion 670 series. The connectivity packages are available in PCM600 Update Manager.
Ordering and delivery
New orders placed on version 1.2 will be delivered with the latest revision 1.2.3.21/1.2.4.16. All existing orders placed on version 1.2 will be delivered with the latest revision 1.2.3.21/1.2.4.16.
If an earlier version/revision is required, a request shall be made to SA-T sales and an approved deviation shall be in place. This applies only to products with no LDCM module in the hardware configuration.
670 series version 1.2.3.17 and earlier (1.2.4.12 or earlier for REB670 customized) having the LDCM module in the hardware configuration will be blocked for any further deliveries from our factories.
Procedures for ordering the firmware update
The IEDs are updated using the Field Service Tool (FST). The tool automatically identifies the product version and installs the correct firmware in accordance with the product version. Please follow the below procedure for ordering the FST.

- Fill in the requested data in the new form
- Fill in the serial numbers of all IEDs to be updated

Please note that it is extremely important that you report back to us via [email protected] when the update of the concerned IED has been completed. This information is needed to keep our product register updated and to ensure the right information to the right local Hitachi ABB Power Grid units also in the future.
