Hitachi Energy - High Voltage Products is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and power distribution products such as Gas Insulated Switchgear, Generator Circuit Breakers, Surge Arresters, High Voltage Interrupters, Insulation Components as well as Control and Monitoring solutions.

For our Business Unit High Voltage Products in Zurich-Oerlikon, we are looking for an R&D Project Manager to strengthen the Project Execution team within our Technology Center Switzerland.  Do you have a fast understanding of technical topics and like to navigate through diverse opinions to find a commonly agreed solution? How you’ll make an impact

• Lead complex and cross-functional projects from inception of product development through different stages of R&D, culminating in the industrialization of the Product

• Manage the project team allocated to the project, defining, with key stakeholders, the scope of work, cost/budget, resources, time schedule and detailed work allocation

• Ascertain that the project follows sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with standard Hitachi Energy internal directives and procedures.

• Ensure appropriate handling of change requests

• Identify, contain, and reduce risks. Ensure transparency around results/events and identify risks and make sure that they are properly prioritized, managed and communicated

• Ensure understanding of customer value, taking into consideration requirements and demands from different Hitachi Energy functions (Application, Sales, Manufacturing, Service etc.)

• Manage relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, other R&D teams in Technology Center and/or Hitachi Research Centers and relevant external parties

Your background

• Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field  

• Min. 4+ years’ experience in Project Management, ideally in Product Development

• Proven Leadership in agile environments and independent, proactive, and goal-oriented personality

• Strong analytical skills and structured way of working, rooted in problem-solving mindset

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills

• Willingness to learn and adapt in cross-cultural set-ups and with multi-location teams

• Familiarity with Project Management tools; Project Management Certification is a huge plus

• Excellent command of English, German is a plus
