NAM Regional Continuous Improvement Specialist

The Opportunity
 

In this role, you will help establish and sustain a continuous improvement culture across Hitachi Energy’s North America Service organization. You will work across multiple regions, HUBs, and functional teams to support both short‑term performance improvements and long‑term operational maturity. The focus of this position is on deploying Lean and continuous improvement methods that improve quality, reduce waste, and create transparency around how work is performed and measured.

You will partner closely with Quality, Operations, Business Process, and functional stakeholders to review performance indicators, investigate gaps, and support actions that strengthen service delivery. The role involves coordinating improvement initiatives across diverse teams, assessing Lean maturity, coaching others on Lean practices, and supporting leadership routines that connect daily performance to broader business priorities. By helping standardize processes where appropriate and supporting KPI‑based reviews, your work contributes to measurable improvements in service execution and the reliability of power grid operations.
 

How You’ll Make an Impact
 

  • Act as a change agent promoting a continuous improvement culture focused on waste elimination across the North America Services organization

  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement methods and tools, including Daily Management, Leadership Standard Work, Value Stream or Process Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen

  • Work with Quality, Operations, and Business Process teams to review KPIs and support actions addressing performance deviations

  • Identify opportunities for process standardization while balancing global alignment with regional needs

  • Implement and support Leadership Standard Work and Daily Management routines for KPI reporting and business reviews, with a focus on SQDIC

  • Assess Lean maturity across the organization and identify opportunities to strengthen Lean capabilities

  • Coach teams and people as they develop their continuous improvement skills and apply Lean practices

  • Coordinate cross‑functional leaders and teams to develop, manage, and facilitate cost‑out and productivity initiatives

  • Nominate, plan, and support Kaizen events aligned to the needs of the Services organization

  • Collaborate with global continuous improvement stakeholders to support Lean deployment strategies

  • Support the integration, harmonization, and digitization of processes across the organization

  • Partner with leadership to align improvement priorities with financial goals, including tracking and reporting of productivity and savings

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.


Your Background
 

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience working with Lean operating or management systems and continuous improvement initiatives

  • L6S Green Belt or Lean Practitioner certification

  • Experience supporting cross‑functional teams and subject matter professionals, preferably within energy, technology, or industrial environments

  • Demonstrated ability to manage improvement projects, communicate effectively, and work with performance data

  • Willingness to travel within the United States and Canada as needed to support initiatives

  • Experience with SAP or Relex is beneficial
